Museum of Science Archives

Archivist Brittany Contratto took Ticknor members on a virtual, behind-the-scenes tour of the Museum of Science Archives.

In 2017, Bloomberg Philanthropies generously provided funding for the first archives department in the Museum’s nearly 200-year history. The Archives traces the Museum’s development from the venerable Boston Society of Natural History, founded in 1830, to the multifaceted educational institution that the Museum of Science is today.

Ticknorites learned how Archives staff are working to improve access to the Museum’s collections, including holdings on the Linnaean Society, the Computer Museum, the Computer Clubhouse Network, the Trailside Museum, and other New England cultural heritage organizations.

Ticknor members can sign into their online account and watch Brittany’s full talk on the Videos page.
