Our annual appreciation of each other’s collections took place online on December 6th, 2022, and included presentations by Ticknor members Dorothy Africa, who updated us on new additions to her collection of binding exemplars and artist’s books; Marie Canaves, who introduced us to incredible Chinese thread books made from folded paper; Shannon Struble, who talked about new directions her Jane Eyre collection has taken since her previous presentation in 2018; Carmen Valentino, who regaled us with stories from his Fulbright year in Vienna (1968-9) and the amazing books he found there; and Tim Weiskel, who presented on early cartography and how maps reflected and influenced human perceptions of the world.
